DESCRIPTION
Designed as an evolution of the SRG-340, it is targeted at engines with up to 8 cylinders and is the most powerful control unit in the SRG series. It is capable, via a Marelli custom driver, of driving up to 4 Peak&Hold GDI injectors and up to 8 drive inductive-command coils. The logic core is based on a high performance PowerPC microcontroller and an FPGA for diagnostic purposes. The data logger and communication processor are managed by an ARM 32 bit Cortex with an internal flash disk of up to 1 GByte in capacity. Communication with other units, such as dashboards and loggers, or with the PC-based configuration tool, takes place via 3 CAN lines, a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet line and a full-speed USB 2.0. The USB port can be enabled to log data on a remote flash disk (Optional functionality). The unit also provides a Half-Bridge output stage for use with compatible “Drive by Wire” actuators.
Up to 10 configurable speed sensor inputs (Inductive, Rate or Hall), provide full flexibility for configuration for engineangle detection and other frequency inputs, such as wheel or shaft speed. The ECU is also available in the SRG-481 version, which has all the features of the SRG-480 but it can drive only logic coils. Both SRG-480 and SRG-481 have the possibility to be configured to drive up to 16 ON/ OFF injectors by using a combination of Peak & Hold and PWM outputs.
